Nigeria’s D’Tigress Arrives in France for FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers
LYON, France — Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, known as the D’Tigress, arrived in Villeurbanne on Monday in preparation for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament, according to DAILY POST.
The tournament is set to take place from March 11 to 17. Head Coach Rena Wakama, along with his assistants, is preparing the 12 selected players for the international competition.
Following their arrival in Lyon, the team has commenced training in anticipation of their upcoming matches. The D’Tigress will compete against France, Germany, Colombia, South Korea, and the Philippines during this qualifying phase.
Key players anticipated to make significant contributions include Promise Amukamara, Ezinne Kalu, Amy Okonkwo, and Sarah Ogoke.
