England netball: Jamaica beat Roses to send series to decider

Jamaica scored a last-second goal to defeat England 50-49 and send the four-match Horizon series to a deciding game.

England went into the match in the Jamaican capital Kingston with a 1-0 series lead following a comprehensive 55-47 victory in the second game in Manchester.

But a rapid start from the Sunshine Girls saw them score five goals without reply and they ended the first quarter 12-10 ahead.

The Roses rallied in the next two quarters to stay within three points heading into the final 15 minutes, but Jamaica cleverly ran the clock down then found the winner to deny Jess Thirlby’s side.

Jamaica also scored in the final second of the opening match in Manchester when shooter Shanice Beckford pounced to clinch a 49-49 draw.

The final game of the series takes place on 27 November at 00:00 GMT and is live on the BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website and app.
