Enyimba Defeats Plateau United 2-0 in NPFL Clash

Aba, Nigeria — Enyimba Football Club, former champions of Africa and Nigeria, secured a 2-0 victory against Plateau United FC on Sunday in Match 30 of the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL).

The decisive goals came in the second half, with Paul Odey finding the net in the 55th minute, followed by Ufere Chinedu, who scored eight minutes later to cement the win for the home side.

The match, held at the Aba Stadium, drew a significant crowd due to an open gate policy enacted by Enyimba’s management, allowing fans to attend without charge.

Despite a promising start, the first half concluded scoreless. Plateau United faced an uphill battle after their goalkeeper received a red card in the 21st minute for handling the ball outside the penalty area. However, Enyimba was unable to capitalize on the advantage until the second half.

With this victory, Enyimba now holds 36 points from 30 matches, featuring nine wins, nine draws, and 12 losses. The result has lifted the club out of the relegation zone, placing them in 15th position on the NPFL table.
