EPL: Walcott picks game that will decide title winners

Walcott: Carabao Cup Final May Impact Premier League Title Race

Former Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has suggested that the upcoming Carabao Cup final could play a pivotal role in determining this year’s Premier League champions.

In a discussion with Mark Chapman on the Monday Night Club, Walcott expressed his belief that the match would set the tone for the remainder of the season. He emphasized the importance of the fixture, particularly in light of Arsenal’s aspirations.

Chapman noted that a loss for Arsenal against Manchester City in the Cup final, scheduled for March, could amplify pressure on the team. “That’s the game – the one that essentially sets the tone for how this whole year is going to look for Arsenal,” Walcott said.

However, former Premier League striker Chris Sutton has countered this view, stating, “I really don’t think the League Cup final has any bearing on the Premier League.”

The Carabao Cup final will take place several weeks prior to Arsenal’s Premier League match against City on April 18.
