EPL: Why Man City beat Leeds 1-0 – Guardiola

Manchester City Edges Leeds with Narrow Victory
LEEDS, England — Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola commended his team for their resilience in a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday.
Leeds initiated the match with aggressive pressing, creating a few notable chances to take an early lead. However, it was City who secured the winning goal just before halftime, courtesy of forward Antoine Semenyo.
With this victory, Manchester City moves within two points of Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Guardiola remarked on the match’s challenges, stating, “We started well apart from the first 10 to 15 minutes. It’s always intense here at Leeds; they are very aggressive in their duels. After that initial period, we completed a lot of passes, which is crucial in football.”
He added, “We controlled the transitions and executed well overall. This was a significant victory to remain competitive. Bernardo and Rodri stood out with their performance, making numerous passes. We needed to search for more opportunities behind the defense, but their effort was remarkable.”
