Gone are the days of 2012 where just three goals will win you the award: in 2020, Cristiano Ronaldo needed five to scoop the gong. That’ll happen with more fixtures, of course.

24 goals scored at Euro 2024 – and no one has scored more than once so far.
This tournament is turning out to be a high-scoring one. Germany, Spain and now, surprisingly, Romania are the leaders when it comes to goals, with the hosts getting five against Scotland, with the latter two getting three each in their opening games of the Euros.
There has only been one own goal thus far at the Euros – Real Madrid star, Antonio Rudiger, headed the ball into his own net on opening night against the Scots. So really, the Germans have scored twice as many goals as the next high-scoring team at this competition…
