Martin Brundle brutally shut down a bodyguard of Kylian Mbappe on the grid ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix.
Legendary F1 broadcaster Martin Brundle has hilariously shutdown a bodyguard who tried to stop him talking to French football star Kylian Mbappé.
Brundle was conducting his pre-race grid walk when he saw Mbappé at the back of the grid.
As Brundle approached, one of Mbappé’s bodyguards tried to shoo him away, to which Brundle replied “it’s alright mate, I’m in charge around here”.

It’s unclear whether or not the bodyguard would have heard the quip, but Brundle proceeded to speak to Mbappé anyway.
”I’m just here for the race,” the 25-year old said. “I just want to be here like a fan and to enjoy the moment.”
But Mbappé was enjoying far from the typical fan experience.
While few will ever get the opportunity to walk on the grid before a race, fewer will ever get the chance to wave the chequered flag, as Mbappé did later in the afternoon.
Mbappé is one of the biggest names in world football, and has just left Paris Saint-Germain, where he had spent the last six seasons. He is expected to sign a massive deal with Real Madrid in the coming days.
Monaco is the jewel in the Formula 1 crown, and often draws more celebrities than other races. Brundle also spoke to Manchester United and Portugal defender Diogo Dalot, Chelsea and England fullback Ben Chilwell, and musician Joe Jonas.
None of them had bodyguards, and all were only too happy to speak to Brundle.
Brundle has been involved in several awkward exchanges during his gridwalks, including at last year’s Singapore Grand Prix, where he brushed young Aussie Oscar Piastri mid-sentence to wish Esteban Ocon a happy birthday.
He was also brutally snubbed by model Cara Delevigne ahead of last year’s British Grand Prix.
In the race, Charles Leclerc finally broke his Monaco Grand Prix duck, winning his home race from pole position. Oscar Piastri was second.
The F1 circus will reconvene in Montreal for the Canadian Grand Prix in a fortnight.
