Falconets striker ruled out for two months over injury

Falconets Striker Janet Akekoromowei to Miss Two Months Due to Ankle Injury
Janet Akekoromowei, forward for Nigeria’s Falconets, is expected to be sidelined for approximately two months after sustaining an ankle injury. The injury occurred during the first leg of Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup third qualifying round against Senegal’s Lionesses.
In that match, which took place recently, Nigeria secured a 1-0 victory with a second-half goal from Kindness Ifeanyi. As a result of her injury, Akekoromowei has already been ruled out of the upcoming second leg.
The 18-year-old player, who currently plays for the Bayelsa Queens, has garnered interest from several prominent European clubs. However, her injury may delay any potential transfer abroad.
