Fire Service Rescues Woman from Well in Kano State
KANO, Nigeria — A 23-year-old woman was rescued after falling into a well in Gurungawa, Kumbotso Local Government Area, early Tuesday morning, according to the Kano State Fire Service.
The Fire Service received a distress call at approximately 12:25 a.m. from local resident Lawan Aminu, prompting the immediate deployment of an Emergency Response Unit to the scene.
Upon arrival, rescue teams found the victim, identified as Ladidi Muhammad Sani, trapped in the well. She was successfully rescued and later reunited with her father, Abdullahi Sani.
The Fire Service has initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the incident and has urged residents to exercise caution around open wells and other potentially hazardous areas to prevent future occurrences.
