Kim Delaney, best known for her Emmy-winning role as Detective Diane Russell on NYPD Blue, found herself on the wrong side of the law this weekend after a domestic altercation with her partner, James Morgan, led to both being arrested.
According to law enforcement sources, police responded to Delaney’s Los Angeles home around 10 AM on Saturday following reports of a domestic disturbance. The couple’s heated argument reportedly escalated into a physical confrontation, prompting authorities to intervene.
Paramedics arrived to assess any injuries, and after both Delaney and Morgan were medically cleared, they were taken into custody. Delaney was booked on a felony assault charge for allegedly inflicting injuries that could cause great bodily harm, while Morgan faced a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.
This isn’t Delaney’s first encounter with legal trouble. She was previously arrested for drunken driving in 2002 in Malibu and faced a hit-and-run lawsuit in 2024 after allegedly fleeing the scene of a motorcycle accident in Los Angeles.
Beyond NYPD Blue, Delaney has starred in CSI: Miami, Philly, Army Wives, and All My Children. Her representatives have yet to respond to requests for comment.
