Former UFC star Nate Diaz charged with battery over alleged fight with Vegas nightclub guard

Former UFC fighter Nate Diaz has been charged with battery following an alleged altercation at the Omnia nightclub in Las Vegas earlier this year.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, the incident occurred on August 25, shortly after midnight, while Diaz and his group were attempting to enter the club at Caesars Palace.

Witnesses reportedly told authorities that Diaz and his associates were causing delays at the cashier line. When a nightclub security guard approached to resolve the situation, tensions escalated. According to the documents, Diaz pushed the guard, who responded by shoving back. Diaz then allegedly struck the guard in the face with “an open right hand.”

The account matches a video that circulated online in September, showing Diaz engaged in a shoving match at the nightclub’s entrance. In the footage, Diaz can be seen swiping at a man’s face, knocking his glasses off.

The altercation was broken up by other security personnel, but Diaz had left the scene by the time police arrived. Court records reveal that an arrest warrant was issued for the 39-year-old fighter, and a misdemeanor case is now ongoing.

Diaz, known for his high-profile UFC battles with Conor McGregor, last fought in the octagon in 2022, securing a victory over Tony Ferguson. Since then, he has transitioned to boxing, facing Jake Paul and Jorge Masvidal. Diaz lost his bout with Paul but won his match against Masvidal.
