Four SEC baseball teams ranked in preseason top-five

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Dec. 20, 2022)—–Four Southeastern Conference baseball teams are ranked in the top-five of the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper 2023 Preseason Poll released Tuesday.

LSU is preseason No. 1, followed by Florida at No. 2, Stanford at No. 3, Texas A&M at No. 4 and Tennessee at No. 5. Arkansas and Vanderbilt are also ranked in the top-10, coming in at Nos. 7 and 9, respectively.

Other SEC teams included in the top-25 are Mississippi State at No. 22 and Ole Miss at No. 24.

The 2023 college baseball season begins the weekend of Feb. 17. The SEC led all conferences with five teams in the NCAA Super Regionals and four teams in the College World Series last season. Ole Miss won the SEC’s third consecutive national title.
