Super Falcons Defeat Cameroon 3-1 in Friendly Rematch
Yaoundé, Cameroon — Nigeria’s Super Falcons secured a 3-1 victory against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in their second friendly match at the Military Stadium on Tuesday evening.
This win came after the Super Falcons suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat in the first friendly held last Saturday. The African champions displayed a dominant performance to turn the tide in this rematch.
Cameroon initially took the lead in the seventh minute with a goal from Christiane. However, the Super Falcons quickly responded, leveling the match when Chiwendu Ihezuo found the net in the 32nd minute. Just before halftime, Rinsola Babajide put Nigeria ahead, scoring from within the box in the 42nd minute.
In the second half, the Super Falcons extended their lead with a header from Michelle Alozie in the 64th minute. Nigeria held on to their advantage for the remainder of the game, concluding the match with a decisive win.
