[Unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] This brand doesn’t seem to put a foot wrong when it comes to creating make-up that women of all ages want to wear. Glossier’s liquid bronzers – Solar Paint – are just as user friendly as their new Ultralip buttery lip sheens HERE that I’ve been wearing a lot and have nudged my favourite Gucci lip balm into second place.

Generally, I think you do at least need a little bit of sunshine for bronzers to look in their right place – it’s just about to chuck down with rain again here so I can safely say I won’t be looking for any sun-lit luminosity today. But, Solar Paint is gel creme formula – very light and whippy – that you can pass as a tone warming blush if you want to. It has got some light reflectivity but it’s not nearly as high beam as a highlighter. It’s more of a glowy warmth.

In terms of little bits of glitter, there are a few but nothing on the same lines as a skin shimmer and this is a light touch product that’s not meant to be loaded onto the skin but instead just sit with you quietly being pretty and well-looking. There are a number of ways that you can apply – I’ve used it by painting a couple of stripes and then blending with a brush, doing the same and blending with fingers and applying to fingers and then blending. It won’t matter which is your preference because the result will be good no matter how you do it. In fact, I’d say I think we’ve found the can’t-go-wrong-bronzer, and believe me, bronzer can go very wrong indeed :-).

The shades I have here from bottom to top are Ray and Flame with Flame being slightly lighter and perfect for my skin right now. They’re swatched at intensity but of course, you would blend out well and there are two other shades – one lighter and one deeper. You’ll need to have a couple of practice goes – I suggest on the arm – first to find your level but I put two small stripes on my cheek before blending out and it seemed plenty. The other thing you can do with this is mix with a cream blush (hello Lisa Eldridge) to create a more glowy blush or even mix with a clear gloss for something a bit more sun kissed for lips. They’re £17 each HERE which feels completely reasonable for such a versatile item. Non-affiliate HERE.

  • We wanted skin to look like it was actually kissed by the sun: each shade has a touch of luminosity from light-reflecting pearls and a thoughtful balance of warmth and dimension (so your bronzer looks just as natural in broad daylight as it does in your bathroom mirror)

  • The almost-whipped gel crème is infused with Desert Milk™ (a micro-emulsion of plant oils and extracts like Jojoba and Aloe) to condition and nourish, and has a natural-effect finish that blends seamlessly with the heat of your fingers
