Going to Kebbi after Kwara, Benue, Katsina killings shows Tinubu is clueless – Mahdi Shehu

Social Media Commentator Critiques President Tinubu’s Proposed Visit to Kebbi
Social media commentator Mahdi Shehu has publicly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu regarding his upcoming visit to Kebbi State for a project commissioning event. Shehu described the trip as insensitive, especially in light of recent violent attacks that have occurred in various parts of Nigeria.
In a post on his official X account Saturday night, Shehu expressed concern that the president would prioritize a political engagement in Kebbi while states such as Kwara, Katsina, and Benue have recently experienced tragic violence resulting in over 240 casualties within 48 hours.
Shehu contended that the president’s decision reflects a troubling lack of empathy and awareness regarding the current security situation in the country. He stated, “This man is both clueless and heartless. He could not visit Kwara, Katsina, and Benue where over 240 people were murdered and butchered within 48 hours, but has the effrontery to travel to Kebbi for politics.”
The commentator suggested that if similar attacks had occurred in other regions, the president’s response would differ, indicating a potential regional bias in the administration’s approach to governance.
Further commenting on the perceptions of the president’s leadership, Shehu referenced recent remarks by Remi Tinubu about the disparity between how Nigerian leaders are viewed domestically versus internationally. He maintained that President Tinubu’s visits outside the Southwest are typically driven by political motivations rather than a commitment to national service.
Shehu concluded by defending public expressions of dissatisfaction toward the president, asserting that such sentiments are justified in light of what he described as Tinubu’s insensitivity.
