Rivers State Governor Mourns Senator Barinada Mpigi

RIVERS STATE, Nigeria – Governor Siminalayi Fubara expressed his condolences following the death of Senator Barinada Mpigi, who represented the Rivers South East Senatorial District. Mpigi passed away at the age of 64.

In a tribute, Fubara characterized Mpigi as a dedicated politician and a prominent leader in Rivers State. He noted that the senator’s contributions were still vital to the community at the time of his passing.

A statement from Fubara’s Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, extended condolences to Mpigi’s family, the constituents of Rivers South East, and fellow members of the Senate. The governor urged those affected by the senator’s death to find solace in the impact he made during his life.

At the time of his death, Mpigi served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Works.
