President Tinubu Meets with Kaduna Governor to Discuss Security Issues
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu welcomed Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani to the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday. The meeting primarily addressed ongoing security developments in Kaduna State.
Governor Sani provided the President with an update on the recent successful rescue of worshippers abducted from churches in the Kurmin Wali community of Kajuru Local Government Area. The abductions occurred on January 18, 2026, when gunmen targeted three churches, taking more than 100 worshippers and raising concerns throughout the state.
The governor noted that the victims were freed through coordinated joint operations by state and federal security agencies, culminating in their safe release over the past week.
In a related development, Governor Sani received 183 individuals who regained their freedom after spending 19 days in captivity. This marks a significant achievement in the region’s ongoing security efforts.
