Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted an Anglican cleric, Venerable Olu Obanla and his son in Ondo State.

The priest and his son were abducted along Ifon/Okeluse road in Ose Local Government Area of the state on Saturday, May 21.

It was gathered that the gunmen stopped the victims’ vehicle and dragged them down from their car before whisking them into the forest, leaving the vehicle behind.

According to a family source, the kidnappers had contacted the family of the victims, demanding the sum of N10m ransom.

The source, however, said the family were able to raise N1million but the kidnappers rejected it.

“The kidnappers have contacted the family and ransom of N10million was being demanded by the kidnappers but the family had raised N1million which the kidnappers rejected.”
