The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Alhaji Bako Bala, has been killed by unknown gunmen.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Special Adviser to the Kebbi Governor on Television and Radio, Alhaji Zaidu Bala Kofa Sabuwa, the armed men kidnapped Bala in his hometown, shot him, and abandoned him in a pool of blood.
According to the post, the deceased was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kebbi, where he unfortunately d!ed on Wednesday from his gunshot wounds.
In a related incident, bandits allegedly kidnapped a person in Matseri village under Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State and shot a young man, who is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi.
Kebbi State has witnessed a series of kidnappings for ransom in recent times, despite the combined efforts of security forces, assisted by the state government, to dismantle criminal hideouts and rescue victims.
The state police command is yet to react to the recent onslaught.
