Gunmen Abduct Six Worshippers in Ondo State Church
Uso, Ondo State – Six worshippers were abducted from the Celestial Church of Christ in Uso, Owo Local Government Area, during a service early Wednesday morning.
The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating it occurred around 12:50 a.m. on February 25. According to police spokesperson DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the victims were taken to an undisclosed location by the assailants.
Following reports of the abduction, police operatives, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and local vigilante groups, mobilized to the site and initiated coordinated rescue operations. As a result of these efforts, one of the abducted individuals has been successfully rescued.
This incident follows another reported kidnapping just four days prior, when a couple was seized in Ilu-Abo, located in Akure North LGA. In a related situation, Oba Kehinde Falodun, the Alagamo of Agamo in Akure North, was recently shot and killed during a violent intrusion at his palace.
Authorities are continuing investigations into these incidents as they work to enhance security in the region.
