Gunmen kill vigilante, abduct several residents in Kubwa, Abuja

Armed Attack in Byazhin-Across Community Raises Alarm
Bwari, FCT — Armed assailants attacked the Byazhin-Across community in Kubwa, a satellite town within the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Monday night. The violent incident occurred around 11 p.m. when gunfire erupted, causing chaos among local residents.
According to reports, the attackers stormed the Paze area, resulting in the death of a vigilante officer, identified as Sylvester. Eyewitness accounts reveal that Sylvester was shot after emerging from a compound where he had been socializing with other residents.
During the incident, multiple individuals were abducted, including four children belonging to a pastor, the wife of a vigilante, her sister, and a security personnel. A one-month-old infant was left unharmed at the scene.
In a troubling development, two days later, reports emerged of further kidnappings in the same vicinity, particularly near Orange Farm, where assailants reportedly entered multiple homes and abducted additional residents.
The recent surge in violence has instilled fear among members of the Byazhin-Across community, previously regarded as a peaceful area. Local citizens are increasingly concerned about the rising trend of kidnappings throughout the Federal Capital Territory.
