18-Year-Old Woman Allegedly Stabs Husband in Potiskum
POTISKUM, Yobe State — An 18-year-old woman is accused of attacking her 25-year-old husband with a knife, resulting in serious injuries to his genital area.
The incident occurred yesterday in Potiskum. According to a statement from the Yobe State Police Command, the suspect, Khadija Jamilu, remains at large.
Police spokesperson SP Dungus Abdulkarim reported that officers promptly responded to the scene and transported the victim to the State Specialist Hospital for urgent medical care. He was later referred to the Federal Medical Centre in Azare, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Abdulkarim stated that efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect, and investigations into the incident continue.
Yobe State Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Ado condemned the attack, emphasizing that marriage should be founded on mutual respect, understanding, and tolerance. He reiterated that marriage must not be a context for violence or abuse.
