BUDDING RnB singer/songwriter Blessed Uzodima Eke aka Blezed has said he will be the next African singer to win a Grammy Award after Burna Boy.

Blezed, who is currently working on a body of work entitled ‘Better Days,’ said his songwriting skill is enough to bring home the musical biggest award.

“Grammy Awards is an award that celebrates musical excellence. Guess what? I aim to be the next winner,” the versatile artist said.

Continuing he said, “A beacon of light in Africa flowing with a lot of talent, skill, and creativity. So, I see my brand doing things on a global scale with performances all over Africa, helping to beautify the lives of people with my music.”

The vocalist who described his genre of music as an RnB with a fusion of soul and Afrobeats speaks on his uniqueness.

“My songs communicate not only my artistic expression but also elements of my story and life experiences, offering a unique perspective into my world and hopefully helping people flow through their daily lives. I want my music to help people connect with their deepest emotions and, thus, live a more colourful and interesting life.”

Blezed becomes a force to reckon with when the song he wrote for Praiz ‘Under The Sky’ won the Best Vocal Performance (Male) at the just-concluded 14th Headies Award.

“When Praiz was asked to mention his three Favourite growing artists in the music industry, and he mentioned me. That was super encouraging,” Blezed exclaimed.

“When I released a certain song title “Ekum”, Praiz heard it and contacted me to write a song like mine. That’s how I wrote ‘Under the Sky.’ Fortunately for me, Praiz and Timi Dakolo are important role models including – Alicia Keys, Bruno Mars and John Legend are huge inspirations for me.”

Blezed’s songwriting abilities have been touted since he broke out when featured at reality TV shows, Project Fame and The Voice respectively. Professionally, he kicked off his music career in 2019 with a debut single ‘Ekum (My Love)’. He followed up with a song titled ‘Make me feel’ on February 10, 2020.

‘Blezed’ is a native of Abia state born and raised in Lagos. He studied Accountancy at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
