“I was shocked to learn there are no completely great examples of fatherhood in the scriptures” Banky W points out the faults of fathers in the Bible as he upholds God as the perfect father figure

Banky W has pointed out that apart from God, the examples of fatherhood in the scriptures all had great faults.

He stated this on Monday, June 17, one day after Father’s day.

He added that dysfunctional fathers in turn create dysfunctional sons who continue the cycle.

He shared photos of the fathers in his life and wrote in the caption: “I was shocked to learn that there are barely any completely great examples of fatherhood in scripture, other than God Himself. Almost every single one did something really wrong.

“Abraham lied about his wife, had a baby with his housekeeper, and threw them out. Isaac also lied about his wife and made enemies of his sons. Jacob had 12 sons and passed the same dysfunction on. Moses was so consumed with ministry that he didn’t teach the same principles in his own family. Jesse didn’t count David as a son. David really messed up his own sons. One by one, they all got it wrong.

“Mistreated and ill-adjusted sons become dysfunctional fathers who mistreat their sons.. and the cycle just goes on.

“(I learned this from one of my mentors @hartramsey, and it completely blew my mind).

“The one Father who got it completely right was the one who led by example and loved us enough to lay down His life.

“May He teach us to do the same… to love, to lead and to sacrifice; to train and to teach; to protect and to provide; to serve and to shield.

“May He help us to break the cycle of father wounds and father absence in our generation and beyond.

“I celebrate all my fathers, father figures, and the Father of life.

“Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers, the fathers-to-be, the father figures, and the mothers who have to make up for an absentee dad in their children’s lives.”
