Invitation to City Boy rally in Owerri insult to Igbo youths – OYC

Ohanaeze Youth Council Rejects Invitation to City Boy Movement Rally in Owerri
The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) has declined an official invitation to participate in the City Boy Movement rally scheduled for Owerri, Imo State. The council described the invitation as an affront to Igbo youth.
In a statement issued Thursday, OYC National President Igboayaka O. Igboayaka urged Igbo youths to boycott the rally, which is set to honor Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu.
Igboayaka criticized the decision to invite the OYC, pointing out that it is inappropriate in light of the continued imprisonment of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), by the federal government.
Additionally, the council expressed concern over the apparent disparity between the lavish lifestyle of the City Boy Movement founder and the struggles faced by many Nigerian youths, including poverty and unemployment.
“The Seyi Tinubu City Boy Movement event in Owerri is merely a political gathering and a deliberate attempt to mock Ndigbo, particularly the youth, during the ongoing incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,” Igboayaka stated.
