Nollywood Actor Kunle Afolayan Seeks Assistance Amid Rising Fuel Costs

Nollywood star and entrepreneur Kunle Afolayan has reached out for public assistance following a significant increase in fuel prices that has impacted his film production activities.

In a video released on social media that has gained considerable attention, Afolayan disclosed that his monthly expenditure for diesel at his KAP Film Village has risen to approximately 11 million naira, even with solar power installed at the facility.

Afolayan expressed his concern over the sustainability of his operations, emphasizing that his diesel purchases have frequently been made on credit. “When we make a small profit, we find a way to pay, and sometimes it takes two months to settle before needing to buy diesel again on credit,” he explained.

The actor is now appealing for a loan to enhance his solar power system, stating, “If you can come to our aid, I would appreciate it.” He further articulated his frustration regarding the escalating diesel prices, now peaking at 1,500 naira per liter. “In one of our businesses, Cab Village, we spent about 11 million naira in just four to five weeks. Despite having solar power, our diesel costs remain high.”

Afolayan voiced his dismay over the price increase, lamenting the jump from 995 naira to over 1,500 naira for diesel, which he described as incomprehensible.
