Veteran actress Joke Silva has opened up on her husband’s illness

In an interview with Chude Jidenowo, the actress revealed that her husband, Olu Jacobs, is suffering from what she termed dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB).

Joke said that this was the first time she had opened up about her husband illness.

She said: “This has been going on for a couple of years. My husband is dealing with issues and it is been going on for a couple of years. It is known as dementia with Lewy Body.

“It is a degenerative disease that affects the brain and it is almost like a Parkinson type of disease; it affects the brain and affects the person.”

“We have gone through it over the past couple of years but we thank God.

“We have gone through some times and situations recently that I wish I had the old you here so I don’t battle these times on my own but we are grateful for the moment of clarity. I miss the times we worked together,” Joke Silva added.

The actress who has been in the Nollywood movie industry for 40 years also said that she found out she was adopted at 9 months when she was 10 years old.

The couple have been married for over 35 years and are renowned for their contribution to the movie industry.

In other news, former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has praised talented Nigerian singer, Davido for donating the sum of two hundred and fifty million naira to orphanages across the country.

Davido took this decision after he hit more than two hundred million naira in donations in two days from his friends to clear his Rolls Royce from the port.

Reno in his reaction said Davido is much wiser than those who gave him monies, stressing that he understands the spiritual realm and the ways of God. Read more
