Kano Businessman Abducted in Nasarawa State
RUKUBI, Nasarawa State — Alhaji Rabiu Salisu, a businessman from Kano, was reportedly kidnapped on Thursday by unidentified gunmen in Rukubi Village, located within the Doma Local Government Area.
The Nasarawa State Police Command confirmed the abduction on Friday. According to the police, the incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. and was reported by Murtala Abubakar of Olam Company, who witnessed the event.
Authorities stated that Salisu was leaving Rukubi Village when he was seized by the assailants. In response to the report, the Divisional Police Officer of the Ekye Division dispatched a team of officers in partnership with local vigilantes to the area.
Police have been searching the surrounding woods, and rescue operations are ongoing in an effort to locate Salisu and apprehend the kidnappers.
The police are urging the public to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation.
