Kidnappers of Ondo LCDA secretary demand ₦100m ransom

Gunmen Demand ₦100 Million for Kidnapped Ondo Council Secretary
Gunmen have contacted the family of Joseph Aladesuyi, secretary of the Okeluju Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Ondo State, demanding a ransom of ₦100 million for his release.
A family source reported that the kidnappers initiated the call at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, asserting their demand without allowing any negotiation.
Aladesuyi, who also serves as the Managing Director of Jotina Farms, was abducted Monday morning during an attack on his poultry farm in the Kajola area of the Ilu-Abo community, near Akure Airport.
An anonymous family member described the emotional turmoil of the past 24 hours, noting that Aladesuyi was shot in the hand during the assault. “They (the kidnappers) called this morning, demanding ₦100 million before they would release him. They spoke briefly and did not allow us to respond,” the family member said.
Concerns for Aladesuyi’s health are paramount for the family, given the circumstances surrounding his abduction. “The call has given us some hope, but raising that amount of money is a significant challenge for us,” the source added.
In response to the kidnapping, Ondo State’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, stated that Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal has mobilized all available operational and intelligence resources to ensure the safe rescue of Aladesuyi and the apprehension of the suspects involved.
