Lagos agency urges Ogun Govt to probe allegations against Simi

Lagos Agency Calls for Investigation into Allegations Against Singer Simi

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency is urging authorities in Ogun State to initiate a preliminary investigation into allegations involving the singer Simi. The agency has asked any potential victims to come forward to assist in the investigation.

Lola Vivour-Adeniyi, the Executive Secretary of the agency, discussed the matter on Channels TV’s Morning Brief. She underscored the agency’s responsibility to address the allegations seriously.

“As for the Simi case, we cannot act like we have not seen these things. We have a duty to at least commence a preliminary investigation,” Vivour-Adeniyi said.

She also highlighted the challenges of pursuing legal action in the absence of testimony from survivors. “The truth of the matter is that it’s going to be very difficult to prosecute the lady without a survivor being present,” she remarked.

Vivour-Adeniyi encouraged individuals who may have been affected by sexual abuse, assault, aggression, or defamation to come forward. “It’s to start the process, document and ensure that their statement is taken. Then we will know where we are going on the matter,” she added.
