Lagos Fringe 2024 Unveils Film line up for its 7th edition


The week-long festival often features a lineup of events like theatre shows, music, poetry, visual arts, installations, and film screenings.

Since its launch in 2018, Lagos Fringe has grown in the number of performances, participants, and audience engagement. Held annually in November, this year’s festival will also feature a lineup of films from across Africa and beyond.

The 28 selected films, from filmmakers in Nigeria, Kenya and diasporans in Canada, and the USA, along with submissions from the Film Lab Africa shorts and micro-shorts, will be screened over five days at Freedom Park, Lagos.

Elakeche (Mysteries of the world)– Nigeria

Sonu (Missing)– Nigeria

O.Y.O (On Your Own)– Nigeria

Angel in the Stone– Nigeria

Evil Spirit, Get Out!– Nigeria

Baptized by Fire– Nigeria

This year’s Fringe festival will also feature 150 performances and exhibitions across 14 venues, showcasing theatre, music, dance, visual arts, and interactive workshops.

A key highlight this year is the Festival Gathering, a hybrid program presented with the British Council, designed to equip African arts and culture leaders with skills in sustainability.

Other planned festival events for participants and attendees include a Y2K Party, Rave/DJ Battle, Fringe After Dark, and Creative Hustle: The Filmmaker and Guide to Global Audiences.

The Festival takes place from November 19 to 24, 2024.
