Lagos House of Assembly speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, impeached

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has been impeached for gross misconduct and abuse of office. 

90% of the lawmakers were in support of his impeachment exercise that took place today January 12.

He has been replaced by Hon Mojisola Metanda of the Apapa 1 constituency.

Obasa who represented Agege State Constituency I in 2007 has been re-elected four times in 2011, 2015 2019 and 2023. He was first elected Speaker in 2015.
