Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency Apprehends Suspected Burglar, Recovers Firearm
Operatives from the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LSNSA) arrested a suspected burglar and confiscated a locally manufactured firearm during a pre-dawn operation in Ikorodu on March 13, 2026.
The arrest was made by officers from the agency’s Imota Command in response to reports from residents about unusual activity in the Araromi neighborhood. LSNSA confirmed the incident in a statement posted on its social media channels on Saturday.
According to the statement, officers acted promptly on complaints made during the night. The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Monday Enoch, was taken into custody at approximately 4:22 a.m.
“Acting on credible information, officers deployed to the Araromi area apprehended Enoch around 4:22 a.m.,” the statement noted. During interrogation, the suspect allegedly admitted to possessing two firearms and subsequently guided officials to an unfinished building in the Mosafejo area of Agbowa, where one locally made long gun was retrieved.
“He later directed the operatives to an uncompleted building in Agbowa, where a locally fabricated firearm was recovered,” the agency stated.
In response to the arrest, LSNSA General Manager Prince Dr. Ifalade Oyekan emphasized the agency’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with security agencies at all levels to ensure public safety.
The suspect and the recovered weapon have been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force at the Imota Division for further investigation and possible prosecution. Efforts are ongoing to locate the second firearm, which is reportedly stolen from Ogun State.
