Why do we love making general sweeping statements, just yesterday I read a comment that said if you dont have a child, old age will be difficult, says who? some people have had their kids die before them, some imprisoned, some not buoyant enough to even help with medical care etc besidee that, community, churches, NGO, extended family, friends etc takes turn to assist old people who may be helpless, it happens a lot in my area, do you know how many elderly people whose children are poor and are still being taken care of by parents in their 70s and 80s it just like saying a baby that was thrown away will not get any help, life doesnt work like that, people will surely help. So stop generalizing, sometimes your parents choice might turnout the best, people choose spouses now and there are even more divorce cases now than ever.
