Obidient Movement Issues Warning Over Threats to Peter Obi
The Obidient Movement North Central has issued a warning to individuals threatening the life of former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.
In a statement sent to DAILY POST by National Coordinator Yunusa Tanko on Wednesday, the group drew parallels between Obi and former U.S. President Donald Trump, suggesting that Obi, like Trump, would endure any threats against him.
The movement called on those attacking Obi to reconsider their actions, emphasizing the potential repercussions for Nigeria. The statement outlined the group’s ongoing investigation into recent events in Edo State, including the motivations and identities of those behind the threats.
“We have taken our time to investigate what happened in Edo State, including the individuals responsible and their following threats,” the statement read.
The Obidient Movement expressed its commitment to peace, stating, “We wish to sound this note of warning to those who seek to disturb the nation’s peace by targeting our leader, H.E. Mr. Peter Gregory Obi.”
The statement concluded with an assertion of Obi’s resilience, paralleling him with Trump’s political journey, predicting he would not only survive but also succeed in winning the 2027 presidential election and vision of revitalizing Nigeria.
