LIVE: Axed Tigers flyer urged to flee to NRL rival

Brad Fittler believes David Nofoaluma’s passion for Wests Tigers has waned and has urged the veteran winger to return to Melbourne if the Concord club allows.

Nofoaluma is back in Wests Tigers colours after a short stint on loan at the Storm late last season, but he won’t play tonight after copping the axe.

The 29-year-old, who’s contracted to Wests Tigers until the end of 2025, was hooked before the hour mark in his side’s clash with the Bulldogs at Belmore Sports Ground last Sunday.

Fittler was asked on Wide World of Sports’ Freddy and The Eighth if he’d try to head back to the Storm if he was in Nofoaluma’s position.

“Well he wants to go. He’s not doing much for the Tigers,” Fittler said.

“I remember Nofa used to (make) 22 runs a game minimum, lots of metres.

“He just doesn’t seem like the bloke you watched a couple of years ago when he was telling everyone to get on the bus and get behind us.

“When you go down to a new club it’s exciting, and also, you’re accountable to all new people, so you’re better. You know what I mean?

“It would just be advisable to train hard and get back into first grade.”
