LIVE: Injuries sour Cowboys’ thumping win

It’s very rare to hear these words, but Melbourne is staring down the barrel of two-straight defeats.

Despite coming off a thrashing at the hands of Penrith last week, Melbourne has entered tonight’s match as favourites according to the bookies.

But it’s the Cowboys on top 12-6 at the main the break.

Melbourne is without a host of star players, including Jahrome Hughes and Ryan Papenhuyzen.

The home side got off to the perfect start tonight, scoring back-to-back tries through Tom Gilbert and Reece Robson before the Storm responded late.

The Cowboys lead despite conceding eight errors compared to just four from Melbourne.

While it’s positive signs for the Cowboys early, there are fresh injury concerns for winger Kyle Feldt and star lock Jason Taumalolo, who were both forced to come out in the first half with injuries.
