LIVE: Sharks exposed by 'training run' as Sivo steamrolls

Blaize Talagi has been moved to the bench for Thursday night’s clash against the Sharks, but there’s still plenty of reason to be excited by the teenage star.

After filling in for Clint Gutherson in recent weeks, Talagi will play a utility role for the Eels and interim coach Trent Barrett believes it could be the best thing for him.

“There’s no doubt that Blaize is a terrific attacking player, but he’s still very green in some parts of his game, and that’s a development for Blaize,” Barrett told media.

“I think we’re able to fit them both in the side, and Blaize will come off the bench and he can play anywhere. It’s good for him because he’s a bit tired after a big month.”

The 19-year-old remains unsigned for next season, with the likes of St George Illawarra and Newcastle in talks to pry him away from the blue and gold.
