LIVE: Teddy backs rival amid cheeky Origin reply

After helping his Roosters side defeat the Eels, James Tedesco was in a cheeky mood post-game as the questions came in around his Origin chances.

With Dylan Edwards returning to full fitness, both men are in contention for the No.1 jersey.

At the press conference, Tedesco was asked what the next 24 hours looks like ahead of the NSW team being named.

“Recovery, maybe some golf,” he laughed.

“That’s about it.”

Despite being hopeful of his chances, Tedesco believes Edwards will be the man named by Michael Maguire.

“I’m not sure, there’s not really much I can do, if Dyl’s fit and can play I think he’ll go back in so that’s how I see it but who knows really,” he said.

“It showed in the first camp anything can happen so we’ll see.”

Sitting next to his captain, Roosters coach Trent Robinson backed his fullback amid his consistent form.

“Ted’s played Ted’s model for a long, long period of time,” he said.

“He’s been so consistent in that, right down to the last tackle … chase kicks, organise line, high support, runs the ball, Ted does what Ted’s known for, that doesn’t vary much at all.”
