Liverpool?s Alexander-Arnold ruled out of League Cup final following injury

Speaking to reporters on Friday, March 14, Slot confirmed that the England international will be sidelined for the final but remains hopeful for his return before the end of the season.

“Trent is not available. He will not be there at the final,” Slot said. “He is still to be assessed for how long it will take, but we do expect him back before the end of the season.”

As a result of the injury, Alexander-Arnold has been omitted from England’s squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, as announced by manager Thomas Tuchel on Friday.

Despite Alexander-Arnold’s absence, defending champions Liverpool will be aiming to secure their first trophy under Slot’s leadership. The Reds are also in pole position for a record-equalling 20th English league title, having built an impressive 15-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

Liverpool fans will now anxiously await updates on Alexander-Arnold’s recovery, as the club continues its pursuit of multiple trophies this season.
