Upon its initial release in 2019, ‘Love Nwantiti’ by Ckay was more or less like ‘just one of those songs’ to most fans.
It wasn’t until 2019 when he dropped the remix, featuring Nigerian artiste Joeboy and Ghana star, Kwame Eugene that the song gained some form of recognition. Then came 2021, and the rest they say, is history.
Starting from Tik Tok, ‘Love Nwantiti’ began to make waves, with Tik Tok influencers employing the song for make up videos, ads, and the likes.
Artistes from all around the world came up with their own versions and remixes of the catchy tune.
The song went as far as becoming the most streamed songs on Spotify, won the Brits awards 2022 for Best International song, and just recently, the visuals of the song has just been ranked as the most viewed Afrobeats music video on YouTube, surpassing Burna Boy’s ‘On the Low’ which has held the number one spot for quite some time.
Going as far as bagging multiple international certifications, ‘Love Nwantiti’ became an anthem worldwide and the young Afrobeats maestro just keeps expanding his coast.
