LSU takes lead at SEC Women’s Golf Championship

HOOVER, Ala. (April 15, 2021)—–Fourth-ranked LSU fired a 12-under 276 for a two-day total of 28-under 548 at the SEC Women’s Golf Championship Thursday at Greystone’s Legacy Course.

The Tiges enter the final day of stroke play with a five-shot lead over No. 1 South Carolina. The Gamecocks carded a 7-under 281 for a total of 553. Auburn (278-557) stands third.

South Carolina’s Pauline Roussin-Bouchard (67-134) sits atop the individual leaderboard, two shots ahead of a trio of golfers that includes Auburn’s Mychael O’Berry (66-136), Vanderbilt’s Celina Sattelkau (69-136) and LSU’s Kendall Griffin (69-136). O’Berry’s 66 was the low-round of the day.

Following Friday’s final round of stroke play, the top-eight teams will advance to the match play portion of the championship.

This marks the eighth year for the Southeastern Conference Championship to be held at the Greystone Golf and Country Club just outside of Birmingham, Ala. The 2021 event will mark the third straight in which the championship will be held over five days with match play on Saturday and Sunday. The championship match on Sunday will be televised live on SEC Network.

The third round of the SEC Championship will begin Friday at 8 a.m. CT. Live scoring is available at SECSports.com and golfstat.com.
