Lyon lands breakthrough as Aussies close in on victory

England pair Chris Woakes (36) and Jos Buttler (21) have mounted an unlikely partnership to put England in with a sniff of a miracle draw in this Test.

The pair reached their combined 50 off 148 balls.

It comes after Buttler should have been out edging a Mitchell Starc delivery, only for wicketkeeper Alex Carey to let the catch pass him by.

“I haven’t got a good feeling about this… from an Australian perspective,” Kerry O’Keeffe told Fox Cricket.

Michael Hussey said, “I don’t think Australia will be panicking just yet”.
