A press release signed by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade on Friday, July 5, revealed that the state government recognises the importance of the Hijrah in the lives of our Muslim brothers and sisters.

The statement reads, “The Commissioner said that the Hijrah marks the migration of the Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina in 622 AD, and is considered a significant event in Islamic history.

It further called on everyone to use the opportunity to reflect on the teachings of the Hijrah, pray for the well-being of our state and our nation, and come together in the spirit of solidarity and brotherhood.
