Makinde, Wife Hold Free Medical Outreach for Pregnant Women in Idanre

Free Medical Outreach in Ondo State Serves Over 200 Residents

Idanre, Ondo State — Residents of Idanre Local Government Area turned out in substantial numbers for a free medical outreach organized by Hon. Abiola Makinde, the representative for the Ondo East/Ondo West Federal Constituency, in collaboration with his wife, Dr. Rhoda Makinde. The event, held at the open field of L.A. Primary School in Odode, provided essential healthcare services to pregnant women and other community members.

The outreach, titled “Kasọ Layọ,” was facilitated through the couple’s humanitarian organization, HAMDROMI. It aimed to enhance maternal health outcomes in Nigeria as part of Dr. Rhoda Makinde’s nationwide healthcare initiative.

In addition to maternal healthcare, the program offered a variety of medical services, including free consultations, health check-ups, distribution of prescribed medications, and pregnancy care kits for expectant mothers.

Dr. Rhoda Makinde, represented at the event by Dr. Charles Ogazie, emphasized the vital role of hygiene during pregnancy for protecting both mother and child. She encouraged non-pregnant participants to prioritize their health and seek timely medical care when needed.

Dr. Makinde also highlighted that the outreach aligns with the humanitarian focus and leadership goals set by her husband, Hon. Abiola Makinde, intended to improve the welfare of constituents in their federal constituency.

The outreach benefited over 200 individuals, many of whom expressed appreciation for the services provided amid rising healthcare costs.

Juliet Akinrinola, a pregnant attendee, commended the initiative for its provision of free medical services and pregnancy care kits, noting it significantly alleviates the financial stresses associated with antenatal care. Another beneficiary, Bolanle Agunbiade, praised the program’s presence in Idanre, expressing gratitude for receiving necessary medications without cost, as access to quality healthcare has become increasingly expensive.

Community members described the outreach as timely and impactful, advocating for its continuation and expansion to extend support to more vulnerable populations within the constituency.
