Male surfer dies following WSL shark attack

A 56-year-old male leisure surfer has died following a shark assault which occurred moments earlier than the Roxy Professional in Maui was scheduled to get underway.

Aussie surf stars Tyler Wright and Sally Fitzgibbons had their semi-final at the World Surf League’s Roxy Pro in Hawaii postponed on Wednesday after a shark attacked an area surfer three hours earlier than the beginning of the occasion.

The surfer suffered accidents to his leg and required CPR on shore earlier than being rushed to hospital.

The World Surf League on Thursday revealed the male surfer, who was left in a important situation, succumbed to his accidents and handed away in hospital.

“The WSL has realized that Tuesday’s sufferer of the shark assault at Honolua Bay has tragically handed away,” World Surf League wrote on Twitter.

“Our ideas and hearts are with the sufferer’s household and mates in addition to your entire Maui browsing group.”
