Man arrested for allegedly pushing his girlfriend to her death after seeing her with another man

Men of the Bauchi state police command have arrested a 27-year-old man, Enoch Yohanna, for allegedly pushing his girlfriend, Ruth Amos, to her death.

 

Confirming the arrest to newsmen, the spokesman of the state police command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, said a patrol by detectives sighted the 28-year old lady lying in a pool of blood with wounds on her head and blood gushing from her mouth at the Sabon Kaura area of Bauchi metropolis.

 

Wakil said a preliminary investigation showed that Enoch and the deceased engaged in a heated argument on the day she died after he saw her coming out of the compound of another man, He immediately challenged her and in the process pushed her and she fell, hitting her head on the ground.

 

The statement stated that further investigation into the incident showed that the deceased and Yohanna were in a romantic relationship and had two children before her unfortunate death.

 

The statement partly reads:

“On 07/10/2021 at about 0445hrs a Joint patrol team in collaboration with the Peace and security committee while on visibility patrol sighted a young lady laying in a pool of blood with wounds on her head and blood gushing from her mouth at Sabon Kaura, the team evacuated the victim to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital Bauchi, where medical doctor certified her dead. ”

During the course of investigation, one Hajara Amos aged 56yrs of Bayara village was identified as the deceased mother and also identified the deceased as Ruth Amos aged 28yrs of the same address.”

 

Wakil said the suspect will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is complete.
