Man arrested for impregnating minor in Ogun

A man identified as Samuel Ani has been arrested in Ogun state for allegedly defiling and impregnating a 14-year-old girl in the Sagamu area. The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday, November 13, around 2 p.m. when Ani was caught in the act with the minor.

The Ogun State Police Command, confirming the arrest, revealed that Ani confessed to the crime. According to Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the command, the father of the victim, identified only as Paul, approached the police to report the alleged abuse. Odutola stated, “The suspect allegedly defiled the minor and is also accused of impregnating her. The 28-year-old suspect has been arrested and detained by the command.” The minor has since been taken to a hospital for medical examination.

The case is expected to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department once preliminary investigations are complete. It was gathered that the victim was immediately taken to the hospital for medical examination.

Commenting on the incident, spokesperson for the command, Omolola Odutola said;

“The father known only as Paul had approached the division to report the crime suspect committed against his daughter. The suspect allegedly defiled the minor and is also accused of impregnating her. The 28-year-old suspect had been arrested and detained by the command.

“The matter will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department once the preliminary investigation is completed. In the meantime, the survivor has been taken to a hospital for medical examination.”
