Medical student at UNIMAID confirmed d£ad after he slumped while reading with his classmates

A 200-level Medical student at the University of Maiduguri, Emmanuel Nwaorie, 26, was on Thursday, August 14, confirmed dead after he slumped while reading with his classmates.

A Nigerian doctor on X who shared the story said the deceased who is an orphan was reading with his coursemates when he suddenly slumped. He said the deceased was rushed to the school clinic where he received little help from the nurse there. According to his friends who were with him, the deceased was described as a hypertensive emergency and he was referred to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital where he was allegedly left unattended for hours because the hospital officials allegedly claimed they had no bed space. He was later certified dead.
