Mischief makers behind alleged bandits’ letter to FCT communities – Police

FCT Police Urge Calm Amid Bandit Threat Reports

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has called for calm among residents of the Kungaboku and Paze communities following reports of potential bandit activity in the area.

On Sunday, unease grew after it was reported that suspected bandits sent a threatening letter to the villages, delivered by a student from a private school in Kungaboku. The letter allegedly warned of imminent attacks in retaliation for the death of one of their commanders during a recent security operation.

In a statement issued Monday, FCT Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh addressed the situation. Following a thorough investigation, the police determined that the letter was the work of “mischief makers” aiming to incite fear and panic within the community.

“The Command therefore calls on members of the affected communities and the general public to disregard the letter and remain calm,” Adeh stated. She also emphasized the importance of vigilance, urging residents to remain security-conscious at all times.
